When you donate your new or gently used items to our ReStore, you are changing lives by making affordable homeownership and home repair a reality for families in your own community. Not only are you making a difference locally, but you’re also making a difference globally by preventing household items with plenty of life left from needlessly going to waste in a landfill!

how to donate

If you have larger items to donate and need assistance getting them to our ReStore location, we offer a donation pickup service for larger items. Call the Donation Hotline at 661-861-8449 or request a pickup to schedule a donation pick-up.

While we would love to have your items right away – we suggest scheduling your pick-up at least two weeks in advance as we often have a high volume of requests. This ensures we have the most convenient pickup date for you. If you need a quicker pickup, we do offer premium pickups through our partner, Re-Supply.

Our ReStore location accepts donations onsite.

Thanks to your donations, families throughout Bakersfield and Kern County have been able to build or repair their own home – just like Raven and her children. Their family received the keys to their Bakersfield home in 2021.

Donation Pickup Services

To serve you better, there are now TWO options for your donation pickup: ReSupply Premium Pickup Service and the Habitat for Humanity Standard Donation Pickup Service. ReSupply offers full PPE protected movers and are completely COVID compliant!

FREE STANDARD PICK-UP

  • Up to a 7 day wait period before our truck can pick up your donated items. Click "Standard Pickup" and enter your zip code to check current pick-up availability.
     

  • We can only accept items that we can sell at our ReStores. Click here for donation requirements. 

  • To help cover our pick-up service costs, please consider making a small fuel surcharge donation of $15 or more (optional).
     

  • In-person drop-off donations are accepted at our ReStore Tuesday – Saturday 9am – 5pm. All drop-off items will be inspected by staff prior to unloading to ensure that they meet our acceptability guidelines.
     

  • To schedule a donation pickup, email us below and request a Donation Callback.

Thanks for submitting. You will receive a phone call to confirm the items you wish to donate meet our requirements and to confirm a pick-up time.

PREMIUM PICK-UP

  • Pickups within 48-72 hours.
     

  • Any and all items accepted! All eligible items are donated while remaining items are ethically disposed of. 
     

  • Item retrieval from anywhere including within residence or a storage unit. 
     

  • Disassembly of items that need it (except doors, cabinets, or lighting).
     

  • Fee reflects the operating costs and is much smaller than a usual moving company or junk hauler fee. (fee is not tax deductible).
